Music Ministry

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing each other in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. -Colossians 3:16

Evergreen Church seeks to encourage all worshipers to express their gifts for God’s glory. The Music Ministry of Evergreen Church seeks to Follow, Share, and Serve Christ through His redemptive love; glorifying God with the beauty and strength of the musical gifts He has so generously given. We have several opportunities to lead God’s people in worship through music. Our Traditional Worship choir leads in worship each Sunday. We also have opportunities in playing in our Hand Bell choir, as well as the use of all instruments by accompanying hymns, anthems, and through special instrumental music, solo and ensembles. We also have opportunities for our children to participate in worship through our Preschool Hand Bell choir and our Elementary Hand Chime choir. For those interested in Contemporary Worship, our second service worship band is open for auditions.

Choir

Our Traditional Worship choir leads congregational hymns during the Traditional worship service and shares special music to help us prepare hearts for worship and the teaching of God’s Word. In addition to leading in worship each week, the Traditional Worship Choir presents the annual Lessons and Carols each December  during Advent and presents multiple anthems with brass and percussion on Easter Sunday. Join us for our weekly rehearsal and fellowship Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. Ages high school through adult are welcome and led by Minister of Traditional Worship Dr. John Odom. Contact Dr. Odom here.

Instrumental Opportunities

Preschool Handbell Choir

Our Preschool Hand Bell Choir is based on a color-coded system, which allows children to easily be successful in playing the bells as they use music to learn together and prepare to participate in worship. Preschoolers rehearse and learn new music on Sunday mornings from 10:30 – 11:00 am between the Traditional and Contemporary worship services. Email Doris Viall for more details.

Preschool Hand Chime Choir

In our Elementary School Hand Chime Choir, our children learn to read music and count rhythms. The hand chime choir meets on Sunday from 10:30-11:00 am between the Traditional and Contemporary worship services. For more information please meal Sue Hutson or Mary Odom.
